How to Submit Your Blog / Site to Search Engines ?

Bloggers, site owners and web masters always wish to get their web pages noticed by Search Engine Spiders. But a lot of people forget to submit their site URL to popular search engines like Google, MSN, Yahoo etc. Here I am writing a quick HowTo for submitting your web pages to some of the most popular search engines. If you have just started a blog or site, you can start from this process.

Search Engine submission is of course an important part in Search Engine Optimization. In other words, you can say that

Search Engine Submission is a Primary task in SEO.

So, ensure that you have submitted your web pages to almost all the major seach engines. It' better to use Google WebMaster Tools after submission to Google so that you can see how your site is performing in their search results. Moreover, it is possible to track and have a look at statistics of the submitted site. So, it is easy to solve the potential problems in your site.

Remember : -

* It does not mean that if you don't submit your URL to search engines, your site will not be noticed. The major search engines are smart enough to automatically discover new as well as old web pages. But there are situations in which your pages are not noticed. So through search engine submission, we are making sure of the presence of our web pages in the search results.

* It's not sure that your site will appear in the first page of the search result. It depends up on some major factors like your site's page rank, site traffic, content, keyword density, etc. If you want to get massive traffic, then you can read my previous posts which explain about the same in detail.

* Submitting URL of your page alone will not drive traffic to your site. Sometimes your site may not be crawled due to the problems like missing page, problem with the external links, spamming, submission limits, presence of non-indexable content, etc. So, please ensure that your page is not encountering such problems.
